Its stunning earthy brown body with a deep shine, is made with locally sourced clay, burnished with river stones to achieve a capturing brightness. However, what makes this piece special is the recovery of the negative-imprint technique, where the piece is pulled from the fire, cooled, painted, and then re-smoked for contrast and depth.
